Pricing questions, answered
How does TaskCrew’s AI use my data?
An AI teammate sees the task it is working on, its comments and files, and what the workspace tools return for the person who started it. It never sees password vaults. All AI runs on deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash through OpenRouter, and by default requests only go to model providers that don’t keep or train on prompts. More on AI and your data.
Who counts as a seat?
Owners, admins and members: the people who can edit. Guests, AI teammates, people viewing a public link and form respondents are free.
What is an AI credit?
One credit is one cent ($0.01) of AI usage. Credits are pooled for the whole workspace: on Team, 600 per seat each month, so 8 people share 4,800 credits ($48 of AI).
What happens when AI credits run out?
New AI runs pause until the 1st of next month (UTC), with the message “AI is paused: this month’s limit is reached”. Runs already under way finish, and everything else keeps working. Owners and admins are told at 80% and at 100%. We never charge for overage.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. The credits are a monthly limit on AI spend, and it starts again on the 1st of each month.
Can admins set a lower AI limit?
Yes. In Settings → AI usage owners and admins set a monthly limit in dollars and see spend by AI teammate, project, person and month. The limit that applies is the lower of theirs and the plan’s.
How does the free trial work?
A new workspace tries Business free for 14 days, with no credit card. When the trial ends it moves to Free unless you choose a plan.
What happens when I downgrade?
Nothing is deleted. Projects, AI teammates, automation rules and vault entries over the new plan’s limits become read-only: you can still open, export and reveal them. Downgrades take effect at your next billing date.
How do seats change as people join?
When someone joins and every seat is taken, a seat is added and charged pro rata. We never lower your seats by ourselves; owners do that in Plan & billing.
Can I pay yearly?
Yes. Yearly is about 20% less: Team is $8 instead of $10 per person a month, Business $15 instead of $19.
How do I pay, and who sends the invoice?
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. They take care of tax, invoices and the payment methods available in your country.
What is your refund policy?
It’s on our refunds page. You can cancel any time, and your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Can I self-host instead?
Yes. On your own server billing is off, so there are no plan limits, and AI runs on your own provider key. See self-hosting or talk to us about licensing.
